1. Avoid asking about weight loss.
2. Be encouraging and complement the dieter.
3. Be sensitive to the dieter’s meal choices.
4. Parents - don’t force your (adult) children to eat clean their plates.
5. Spouses – go along with the program.
For the Dieter
1. Be mindful of the “smell factor” with your specialty diet foods.
2. Don’t criticize your friends who might need to diet too.
3. Don’t impose your dietary restrictions on others.
4. Let people close to you know you’re dieting so they can be supportive.
