PROM TIPS

1. Don’t wait until the last minute to ask your date out. If you are even thinking of asking someone out, do it early this way you’ll give yourself, your date and one another’s parents time to work out all of the details.

2. It’s alright to go on an all girl or all guy group date. If you choose to make it a night of hanging with your best buds then rock on!

3. Choose age appropriate attire. No sense in trying to look like a video vixen or some pop star. Many schools have a dress code so it’s best to just follow the guidelines and have a great time.

4. Boys should still purchase a corsage for girls. It’s always nice for a gentleman to bring lady flowers so this is a wonderful gesture towards your date to show her she’s special.

5. Be polite to your date’s parents. Speak clearly, make good use of the English language, use good eye contact and be pleasant.

6. Remember to mind your manners
a. Guys, open all doors, including the car door for your date.
b. If you’re traveling in a limo, guys allow your date to enter first, and then give her your hand to help her out.
c. At dinner: Guys, let your date pick her seat, pull out her chair, and allow her to order first.
d. Girls, be gracious and pleasant in your behavior, allow your date to be a gentleman.
e. Table Manners: Napkin in your lap, elbows off the table; use your silverware from the outside in.

7. Have fun, be safe, and keep your curfew! Your parents want you to have a great time but they mostly want to just… well … have you with them - so be safe and come home!
