Table Service and Settings

Put your napkin in your lap soon after you sit down.
- The Dinner Plate is placed directly in the center.
- Forks always go to the left of the plate. Use each fork from the “outside – in”.
- Knives always go to the right, directly next to the plate. Turn the sharp edge inward.
- Soup Spoon goes to the right of the knife.
- Glasses are placed just above the knife and slightly to the right.
- Bread plate and butter knife is placed just above the forks and slightly to the left.
- Salad plate is placed to the left of the forks.
- Cup and saucer are placed just above the spoons to the right.
- Dessert spoon or forks are set above the plate or are brought out with the dessert.
